INTERVIEW WITH ENCARNACION PYLE

Encarnacion Pyle

Encarnacion is a reporter for the Santa Barbara News Press. She was Principal for a day at Main School this year. She loves working for a newspaper, because she gets to meet a lot of people and write a lot of stories. She has been a reporter for eight years. She has written a lot of articles on the schools, and say's "you have to have all your facts correct" when you report. Her favorite story that she wrote was on the Chumash Indians.

When she was growing up, she used to watch Walter Cronkite and thought it would be fun to be a newsperson. She was named after her Grandmother. Her parents are Concepcion and Larry, and she has fond memories of growing up in a loving home. She remembers playing in their backyard, climbing large trees. She also remembers loving school. Her favorite color is Dark Green. She almost became a teacher, and after being Principal for a Day, just might become a teacher some day.

She can be reached at the Santa Barbara News-Press, 805-564-5258
