Interview with Mrs. Ward

Q: What is your full name?

A: Susan Diane Ward

Q: Were you named after anyone?

A: No, but my mother thought of my name while being driven to the hospital.

Q: Where were you born?

A: Pasco, Washington

Q: What are your parent's names?

A: Bob and Lori Reid

Q: What do you remember about the house you lived in?

A: It was a two story house with a big yard. We had two bedrooms upstairs, one for my brother and the other for my parents. Downstairs there was one long bedroom with five beds for myself and my four sisters. I played a lot of baseball and kickball in the backyard.

Q: What do you remember most about you childhood?

A: I remember being on the swim team and going to my grandmother's farm to work for spending money.

Q: Tell me about your family?

A: I am the youngest of six kids. I had a sister, named Judy, who died at age ten of cancer. My father was a nuclear chemical engineer and my mother taught dancing and swimming. My mother is related to Queen Elizabeth of England.

Q: What is your family background, personal history (grandparents, great grandparents, relatives) and their roles in the community?

A: My grandmother was a farmer and my grandfather owned a shoe repair shop.

Q: How long have these significant relatives lived here?

A: yes, for the last nine years

Q: What previous professions have you had?

A: I have taught a swim team, worked on a farm and now I work at Kinko's
