No, but I have the same initials as my father.

Where were you born?

Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.

What are your parent's names?

Donald Lee Hathaway and Helen Sherman-Hathaway.

What countries, cities, and states did you grow up in?

Montecito, USA.

What do you remember about the house you grew up in?

It was old and small, I had to share a bedroom with my older sister.

What do you remember most about your childhood?

Going to the family ranch and playing on the street by my house.

What is your family background, personal history (grandparents, great grandparents, relatives) and their roles in the community?

My grandmother's side was Indian and German; my mother's mother was a nurse and a single parent.

How long have these significant relatives lived here?

Since the early 1900's.

Are there some other people that have contributed to your success as a community leader?

My father and my uncle were firemen and that has influenced me.

Could you describe your profession to me?

I am a fireman and I respond to emergencies.
