Richard L. Medel was born on June 29, 1947. He has a wife and two sons. Their names are: Tommy (25), Michael (22). His wife's name is Patsy. He has been married for 26 years.

Richard L. Medel is related to Lance Duffeild.

Background:

His parent's names: Father - Lucio was born in Carpinteria.  His parents immigrated from Mexio in 1919.  His mother, Barbara Arellanes is a 9th generation Californian.

Rich was born in Santa Barbara and lived his entire life in Carpinteria. He grew up on 7th St. He went to Aliso School, Main School, Jr. High and High School, SBCC, then Long Beach State College.

He has been the Director of the Carpinteria Boy's & Girl's Club for the past 27 years.

He oversees all programs, fund raising, etc.

He likes his current job because it improves the community and builds better programs for kids. He feels you must lead by example, be good, associate with good people, and give back to the community.

He loved growing up in Carpinteria and has great memories.

He breaths Carpinteria, love's it!
