My name is Maricela. H. I chose to interview Ruben Gonzalez. I chose this person because he is nice, and so that I could learn things about him. He was born in Santa Barbara. His mom and dad's names are Victoria & Severu. He grew up in Carpinteria. It was a happy home. He has an automotive background. His dad was gardener and a rancher. His mom was the boss.

A: Santa Barbara

A: Victoria & Severu

Q: What countries/states/cities did you grow up in?

A: Carpinteria

Q: What do you remember about the house you lived in?

A: It was a small happy house.

Q: What do you remember most about you childhood?

A: What a nice mom and dad I had.

Q: What is your background?

A: Automotive

Q: Tell me about your family?

A: My dad was a gardener and a rancher. My mom was the boss!

Q: What is your family background, personal history (grandparents, great grandparents, relatives) and their roles in the community?

A: My family were farmers and ranchers, and they came from Mexico.

Q: How long have these significant relatives lived here?

A: My dad lived for 57 years and my mom has been here for about 57 years in Carpinteria.

Q: Are there some other people that have contributed to your success as a community leader? How have they influenced you?

A: Joining the Lion's Club helped me get involved in community service.

Q: Could you describe your profession to me? What do you do at your job?

A: I have a small auto parts store.

Q: Describe the activities in which you are currently involved?

A: I'm involved with Lions activities such as sight programs and hearing programs. I am currently the Zone S Chairman.

Q: What path did you take to become a leader?

A: I joined a Lion's team and went to a leadership school.

Q: What does the term "Civic Leadership" mean to you?

A: Helping your city and people.

Q: Could you list and describe the changes or contributions you have made to the community?

A: I have invited friends to join the Lion's Club and do community service.
