What is your full name?

Jorge Luis Garcia

Where were you born?

I was born in Michoacan, Mexico

If you weren't born in the U.S.A., when did you arrive here?

I arrived here February 15, 1975

What are your parent's names?

Jose Carmen Garcia (Father) and Maria Soledad Garcia (Mother)

What do you remember about the house that you lived in?

When I was little I lived in a house made of adobe.

What do you remember most about your childhood?

I was a very shy boy, (and I still am)!

What is your background?

I am Mexican and a U.S. naturalized citizen.

Tell me about your family

I have a very big family. There are 13 of us, 5 girls and 8 boys!

How long have your relatives been in the area?

Many years

What professions have they had?

One of my uncles was a carpenter and my father built canoes.

Are there some other people that have influenced you and contributed to your success?

Friends have contributed to my success, especially working with kids and getting them involved in sports.

Could you describe your profession to me?

I am a professional bus driver, I drive a school bus it makes a difference when carrying such precious cargo.

Describe the activities that you are currently involved?

I am very involved in my son's soccer club.

What path did you take to become a leader.

I have had role models of leadership, I have observed other people and their successes.

Could you describe any changes that have taken place since you became a community leader?

I try to lead kids towards being better citizens. I try to teach them good habits. For example: keeping the school clean.

What changes or contributions have you made to the community?

I have always acted in a positive manner.

Jorge how do you like working for Main School?

Yes, I love working at Main School.

Jorge do you like driving a school bus?

Yes, I like driving a school bus. I care very much.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Making sure that every child feels comfortable. Making sure they feel safe.

Who do you coach soccer for? Or do you?

I did coach before, but now I am involved with my son's soccer club.

Are you Mrs. White's friend?

Yes, I am Mrs. White's friend. She is a very nice person.

Sure!

Is it hard to drive a school bus?

Yes. It is hard, but we have a lot of training.

Are you married?

Yes, I am married. I also have 3 children (2 boys and 1 girl), they are wonderful.

How old are you?

35 years old

What do you like about your job?

The favorite part is working around the kids and helping them.

What do you like about driving a school bus?

It takes somebody special to drive a school bus. Someone who has a lot of patience and will understand that every child may need a different approach with a problem.
