Avocado Growers

George Bliss, a Carpinteria Avocado Grower, and a community is leader is featured on the Calavo Web site. Bliss recently helped raise
three million dollars for "Elings" Park, he is an active Lions Club member and is a past Carpinteria School Board Member and member of the Santa Barbara Grand Jury. Visit his biography at the Calavo Biography site.

Scott Van Der Ker is an avocado grower that we interviewed. He has been involved in the Carpinteria Visioning 2020 Committee and the Carpinteria Economic Development Committee. Currently, he is on the Workforce Investment Board that helps match employers with people looking for work.

Charles Thompson is a avocado rancher in Carpinteria. He is on the Board of the Carpinteria Valley Little League.
